TotalSiteControl (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides free network diagnostic tools and optional monitoring services at totalsitecontrol.com.
Until our registered legal entity name and address are published on this page, the controller of personal data is the operator of the TotalSiteControl service at https://totalsitecontrol.com.
Primary service infrastructure is hosted on Hetzner in Germany (European Union).
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies when you use our websites, free checkers (for example SSL, DNS, ping, HTTP headers), optional monitoring/onboarding flows, and related communications.
3. Data we collect
We collect only what we need to run and improve the service:
- Tool inputs you submit: hostnames, URLs, IP addresses, and similar targets you ask us to check.
- Account and onboarding data (when you start monitoring): email address and related verification information.
- Optional email report addresses, if you ask us to send a check summary.
- Technical logs: IP address, browser/user-agent, timestamps, and request metadata needed for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
- Usage analytics via Microsoft Clarity (when enabled), which may include pages viewed, clicks, session interaction data, and approximate location derived from IP. See our Cookie Policy for details.
4. Why we use data
We use personal data to:
- Perform the checks and monitoring you request.
- Create and secure accounts, send alerts, and deliver optional email reports.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the service (including abuse detection and rate limiting).
- Understand product usage (analytics) so we can improve the tools and UX.
- Meet legal obligations where applicable.
5. Legal bases (EU/EEA/UK)
Where GDPR / UK GDPR apply, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract / steps prior to contract — providing the tool check, account, monitoring, or email report you requested.
- Legitimate interests — securing the service, preventing abuse, basic product analytics and improvement, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent — where required for non-essential cookies/analytics (including certain Clarity features) or optional marketing.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with law.
6. Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate TotalSiteControl, under appropriate agreements, for example:
- Hosting: Hetzner (Germany) for application and data hosting.
- Analytics: Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft may process data outside the EU, including the United States).
- Email delivery providers used to send reports, alerts, or verification messages (when those features are enabled).
- Professional advisors or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
If you use monitoring as a business customer and we process personal data on your behalf as a processor, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) will be available on request.
7. International transfers
Core hosting is in Germany (EU). Some providers (notably Microsoft Clarity and certain email or infrastructure vendors) may process data in countries outside the EU/EEA/UK.
Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and provider compliance programs.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above:
One-off tool checks and related logs are kept for a limited operational period (security, debugging, abuse prevention), then deleted or anonymized.
Account, monitoring, and alert data are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward (or as required by law).
Email report addresses are kept as needed to deliver the requested message and for related support/abuse controls.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. EU/EEA/UK users also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the service (access controls, encrypted transport where applicable, and operational hardening). No online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site.
